Why this Industry?
Indian health-focused F&B market is valued $12bn as of CY21 and expected to grow to $30 bn by CY26. Increase in disposable income, focus on healthier alternatives, and change in living standards of the Gen – Z population are key drivers for growth in demand for healthier snacking option. While there are limited snacking brands in the premium segment and people looking for healthier alternative have to compromise on taste, there is a massive gap to cater to with innovation around food products
Why We Invested?
Tagz presents a tasty, yet healthy line of premium snacks for the Genz crowd. The market has very few premium chips brands (Pringles) targeting the younger generation and innovative flavors, providing a huge untapped market potential.
The products have been well appreciated in the market. We had invested during the seed round a year back and now they have scaled to 4x MRR while staying frugal and improving unit economics. We have been impressed by the sustained growth of the business so far and expect the company to scale further.
Anish and Sagar have complementary skills to drive the startup's growth. Anish is a 2x founder and he had built Shotang in the past. He is a charismatic leader and understands brand-building really well and has been able to execute well in a tough segment.
We have seen the team and brand grow through close quarters and expect them to scale Tagz into a great challenger brand further, thus doubling down on our investment.
