Objective : To hire and train fresh graduates in key skills required for venture capital

Eligibility :

• Any fresher graduate or post graduate with zero or minimal work experience but a keen interest and a demonstrated hunger in business, finance, entrepreneurship, and/or investment towards investment banking;

OR

• Candidates having basic understanding of financial statements through their academic course work as part of their studies; OR• Candidate(s) having some experience in commercial Due Diligence/ Credit Rating Agency/KPO or Equity Research role;

OR

• Candidates not fitting into Management Training Program on account of their education of work experience, or not able to clear the cut off/percentile required for the Management Training Program

Duration : 24 months of the internship program (6 months under Internship Program + 6 months under Management Training Program + 6 months under the Junior Fellowship Program + 6 months under the Senior Fellowship Program)

Compensation :

• For initial 0-6 months: INR 30,000/- per month, i.e while under internship program;

• For next 7-12 months: INR 40,000/- per month, i.e while under management training program;

• For next 13-18 months: INR 55,000/- per month, i.e while under Junior fellowship program; &

• For last 19-24 months INR 65,000/- per month, i.e while under Senior fellowship program.

Intake : 2 candidates every quarter

What You Can Expect :

• Front-end role – direct interaction with start-up founders from Day 1

• Understanding of the full deal cycle – right from first call with the founder to the time money is in the bank

• Understand Dexter’s thesis unique lens of start-up evaluation

What Will You Work On :

• Interaction with start-up founders from day 1 in evaluation of potential deals

• Assisting the deal lead in entire deal execution including being part of Dexter-Investor calls Company-Investor calls

• Collateral preparation including financial model, IM, Teasers, competition benchmarking, valuation comps, etc.

• Coordination of various due diligence processes (tax, financial, legal, etc.), investor/client calls meetings, etc.

• Deal documentation closure processes

• Industry/sector research for deal sourcing assist in finalizing MA/VC/PE mandates

• Preparation and updation of marketing materials for clients, media, conferences, etc.

• Updating internal MIS/databases

The test would have a moderate difficulty level and would be time-bound so the candidate(s) may brush up on their knowledge and may give some mock tests before appearing for the actual test. A percentile method with a minimum cut-off score would be used to shortlist candidates.

• On clearing the test, the selected candidates thereafter would need to go through a rigorous interview process with a minimum of 2 rounds which can last up to 4 rounds before final selection can be made.

• If the candidate does not get shortlisted, he/she may re-apply again after in 3 months upon improving his/her skillset.

• The selected candidate would be on a contract basis while undergoing training and would convert into a full-time employee post-successful completion of the program.The candidate is expected to work out of any of the Company’s offices located in Bangalore, Delhi & Mumbai, with a strong preference to work from the city in which the supervisor allotted to the candidate is located.The candidate will be required to enroll in any of the online courses approved by Dexter.

• The expenses including fees for undergoing the training and taking up online courses shall be required to be borne by the candidate and the same will be reimbursable on successful completion of the academic program. i.e when the candidate has not only completed the program for training purposes but also score a “pass” grade from such a program. Subject to successful completion of the academic program as defined above, the expenses/fees incurred for undergoing the above training program will be reimbursed once the candidate completes the 2 years of continuous employment with Dexter from the date of initial enrolment in the said academic program.

• While undergoing the study course, in parallel, the candidate would be expected to work with Dexter team and devote full professional time to complete the expected job responsibilities.

• The duration of each program i.e internship, management training and the two fellowships (including the study course) will be 6 months.

• Post successful completion of the internship and based on the supervisor’s evaluation (2 evaluations every two months and a final evaluation at the end of the internship), the Internship Program may be converted into the Management Training Program which post successful completion and upon evaluation may be further converted into a Junior Fellowship Program. Upon successful completion and evaluation of performance in Junior Fellowship Program a Senior Fellowship program may be offered; and on completion of this Senior Fellowship Program and upon evaluation – a full time offer of employment for the role of Venture Capital Analyst may be extended to the candidate.

• In the event, the candidate has not completed the academic program or the candidate’s performance has not been at the desired level, and a full-time offer is not extended, the program duration may be extended by 3 to 6 months in which the candidate would be required to overcome the deficiencies as pointed out in evaluation and convert this into a full-time position, failing which a full-time offer shall not be extended.

• The program can be terminated at any point in time in the event of indiscipline; lack of sincerity towards work or other extraordinary circumstances.

• Candidates are also encouraged to enroll for CFA Level -1/2/3 examination fee for the same will be initially borne by you and would be reimbursed upon (a) you successfully scoring a “pass” grade in the said CFA exam and (b) completion of 12 months from becoming a full-time employee or CFA results whichever is later.

• Company does not provide any relocation expenses.

• The candidate while pursuing the program would not have access to Company’s insurance/health care benefits. However, once the candidate converts into full-time employment then standard healthcare/insurance benefits which are applicable to all other team members would be available.

• Candidates having basic understanding of financial statements through any certificate program; OR• Candidate(s) having cleared CFA L1;OR• Candidate(s) with at least 3 months of experience in Front end IB/ Back or Middle Office roles/ Commercial Due Diligence/ Credit Rating Agency/KPO or Equity Research role;

OR

• Candidates not fitting into Junior Fellowship Program on account of education of work experience or not able to clear the cut off/percentile required for the Junior Fellowship Program but when their scores meet the requirements for Management Trainee program.

OR

Duration: 18 months of the trainee program (6 months under the Management Training Program + 6 months under the Junior Fellowship Program + 6 months under the Senior Fellowship Program)

Compensation :

• For initial 0-6 months: INR 40,000/- per month, i.e while under management training program;

• For next 7-12 months: INR 55,000/- per month, i.e while under junior fellowship program; &
